Director/Sr. Scientist – Analytical Development

Location:  Moscow, Russia

Reports to:  Vice President R&D

Duties and Responsibilities:

This position will be responsible for developing the analytical methods, both chemical and physical, for Selecta's proprietary targeted nanoparticles. This will include transfer of knowhow from Selecta Biosciences (Boston, MA, USA) as well as the creation of new methods, application for R&D purposes and development to a stage suitable for pre-clinical testing and clinical trials. The successful candidate will develop a wide range of analytical methods and sample preparations for complex polymeric particles containing one or more active entities. This position will require hands-on work in setting up the lab, developing methods and running assays in support of Selecta's product development as well as building and leading a highly functional and talented team. The successful candidate will also be able to work with people with diverse backgrounds and abilities for the purpose of solving complex chemical and biological problems for the development of products. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Russian are required as is the demonstrated ability to lead cross functional teams. Travel to the United States for training and other research related functions at Selecta's USA facilities will also be part of the role.

Education Requirements:  Ph.D. in Chemistry or related discipline

Experience:  Minimum of 8 years experience in pharmaceutical analytical development.  Experience with polymeric particulate systems a plus.
